Meridian Weather Privacy Policy
Effective September 22, 2026
Latarnia provides Meridian Weather. The app has no accounts, advertising, or analytics. We do not sell personal data or operate a server that collects your app activity.
Data used and shared
With your permission, Meridian accesses your device’s location, which may be precise, while you use the app to show local weather. It does not access location in the background. You can instead search for a place and revoke location permission in your device settings.
To provide forecasts, air quality, search, alerts, and maps, the app sends:
- Place coordinates and search text to Open-Meteo.
- Place coordinates to the US National Weather Service for US alerts, or the selected country to MeteoAlarm for European alerts.
- The map areas you view to RainViewer and OpenStreetMap for radar and map tiles.
- Device coordinates to your operating system’s geocoding service to find a place name.
These providers also receive your IP address and standard connection information. App requests use HTTPS. Providers process and may retain requests under their own privacy policies.
Storage and deletion
Settings, saved and recent places, the last selected location, and cached weather are stored on your device until replaced or deleted. Remove saved places in the app; clear the app’s storage or delete the app to remove local data. For the web version, clear its site data in your browser. Device or browser backups may retain copies under your backup settings.
